The study is thus involved designing an air blown downdraft gasifier and characterising the process occurring within it, as well as the ouput, viz, gas calorific value and the flow rate. Application of the gas on a 20 KW reciprocating engine is studied with an electrical load producing about 12 KWe. Particular attention is taken on cooling and cleaning system to provide the condition and quality of gas for such application.
