Note:
The numerical simulation into a bent diffuser ducts has been studied using a finite volume code. The geometrical shapes have been drawn so as to register to geometrical characteristics of the diffuser in experimental test. Pressure and discharge values at the outlet of the duct have been imposed to air flow. The experimental values have been used to calibrate the computational model especially to define the correct values of the turbolence specific energy, used in K-e algorithm. The numerical velocity and pressure results are in agreement with experimental values in all measure sections of the diffuser duct. Swirling flows have been imposed to calculate the effects on the turbulent flow field, determining the advantage in the pressurerecovery coefficient. Some geometrical shapes of the ducts have been used to study the effects on the fluid flow to optimize the energy distribution.
