Note:
Two different types of thermogravimetric heat pumps, 200 kW thermal power, have been studied in the present paper. The former operates in the conventional thermal range with utilisation temperatures of 50-70°C: the carrier fluid is demineralized water while the working fluid is a perfluorocarbon PFC or a hydrofluorocarbon HFC, according to the use. Main characteristics trends as the plant height Z, ducts diameter and COP have been reported. The latter would be employed for peculiar applications: the extreme cycle temperatures are 140°C and 80-100°C, respectively. The carrier fluid is liquid sulphur or the eutectic low-melting-alloy Pb-Bi while the working fluid is a PFC or H2O: the most significant trends have been drawn.
