Note:
Inhomogeneous fluid conditions has different sources, e.g. burning processes as well by some bends into a flue gas duct. In front of any catalyst a certain stoichiometric Mol – concentration between some chemical elements is required. But also the temperature deviation may influent the reaction. To start the reaction often additives has to added into the flue gas. The additive can inject on different manners. Without any turbulences the additives will be concentrated on local sector (spot) into the flue gas duct. The chemical reaction is limited. So some turbulences are required. Unfortunately all turbulences cost some energy. The turbulences may be small (local) or big (covering certain space). In case the turbulences are small, the additive has to adjusted according the local concentration. In case the local concentration of flue gas content vary, the additive should adjusted accordingly. Static mixers help to homogenize the additive into the flue gases and increase the efficiency of catalyst.
