Note:
In this paper, a numerical method is used to investigate the temperature distributions at different porosities and permeabilities for combustion in porous media. To this end, an axis-symmetric two stage burner model is employed to perform the combustion. The continuity, momentum, energy, turbulence and species transport equations are solved employing a one-step chemical reaction mechanism with Eddy-Dissipation model for rate of reactions. The different porosity is examined in each stage of the burner and the temperature distributions are compared. Also, the effect of different permeabilities on centerline temperature is investigated thoroughly. For the verification of the results, an experimental case which has similar conditions to one of the numerical results is compared to numerical result and the error percentage is presented.
