Note:
Phenomena of foam flow and heat transfer to it rather complex. Foam has number of peculiarities, which extremely complicates an application of analytic methods for the study of heat transfer in foam. The purpose of this work was to investigate experimentally heat transfer of the tubes located in different positions of the in-line tube bundle to upward vertical foam flow. Investigation was performed on the experimental laboratory set-up consisting of the foam generator, vertical foam channel and the bundle of the horizontal tubes. The statically stable foam flow was used for the experimental investigation. Volumetric void fraction of the statically stable foam flow was 0.996-:0.998; gas velocity for foam flow was changed from 0.14 to 0.32 m/s; heat transfer coefficient varied from 200 to 1146 W(m2∙K). The results of the investigation were generalized using the relationship between Nusselt and Reynolds number, and volumetric void fraction of statically stable foam flow. .
