The latest developments in waste to energy whole cycle and influence of source collection on final results

Pubblicazione

Autore: L. Cassitto, F. Sissot

Collana: BT - 34 - Mag 06 - Energy: production, distribution and conservation

Note:
International tension regarding energy markets is the reflection of the more profound reasons of a political, economic and social nature, that not only keep the price of a barrel of petrol high and maintain contention over the availability of natural gas, but also risk to block, totally or in part, the supply of these fuels.
In this context any integrative source to the traditional fossil fuels, on which the West depends in a massive way, and Italy even more (about 75-80%) should not only be considered as the supply of energy, but also has a political and social function, which should encourage eveyone to re-examine their previous considerations with a particular sense of responsibility, in order to verify the effective validity of conclusions that are sometimes drawn in paste.
The recovery of energy from waste is in any case one of the prime objectives of the European Union.
