Note:
The German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety has launched the funding programme SOLARTHERMIE 2000plus. Within this programme, Fraunhofer ISE is responsible for accompanying research in projects of solar assisted air-conditioning.
It is an experience from former demonstration projects that special care from the beginning of the planning phase is required to ensure the expected savings in fossil fuel and greenhouse relevant emmissions. Thus, the research includes the development of measures for system concept evaluation as well as for the evaluation of the operation data of the realised plants. At the end of the project, comprehensive experience will be available in terms of evaluation concepts, guidelines, cross-section analysis
reports and result transmission on an international level through participating on a new IEA Task on solar cooling. In this way, SOLARTHERMIE 2000plus offers a unique chance to move solar assisted air-conditioning from todays pilot and demonstration system character closer onto the market.
The paper briefly presents the structure of the accompanying research.
