Note:
Analysis of optical properties of different carbonaceous matherials and particles is performed in a wavelength interval of electromagnetic radiation between 0.3 micro m to 2.5 micro m, on the basis of Mie's scattering theory for spheres of arbitrary size. The examined materials are: acetylene carbon black, coke, anthracite, black and brown coals and ash as mineral matter from coke and coals. Absorption, reflection, scattering and extinction properties of particles analyses are performed on the basis of incident radiation of unit intensty and spectral and global solar irradiance. A backscattering efficiency factor was introduced to determine the power of solar radiation reflected from particles. The results show which material and particle size are most appropriate for use in a gas-particle absorber.
