Note:
The accuracy of experimental investigations on critical point phenomena in fluids is limited by two major obstacles: anomalies of thermodynamic properties and strong susceptibility of the fluid to different distturbances. This paper presents the results of influence of gravity (one of the most strong disturbances of a fluid in the vicinity of critical temperature) on some processes. Gravity waves propagating along the interface between liquid and vapor were investigated. In immediate proximity to the critical point the internal waves generated by a harmonic disturbance and which propagate at a constant angle to the horizontal were found. The dependence of the density gradient relaxation time on temperature at quick transitions of substance from the two phase state into the one phase state have been obtained experimentally using internal waves. The pecualiarities of convective heat transfer from horizontal cylinder to substance near critical point depend on parameters of state are discussed.
